Refund & Cancellation Policy
Key Points: You can cancel anytime; service remains active until end of billing cycle. Paid fees are generally non-refundable, with exceptions for new subscriptions (14-day window), service failures, and billing errors. When you downgrade and your storage exceeds the new plan's quota, you get a 30-day grace period to delete files or upgrade—no automatic file deletion. After the grace period, files move to cold storage for 180 days (restorable by upgrading to SOLO).
1. FREE Plan and Trial Periods
1.1 FREE Plan (No Payment Required)
- Always Available: The FREE plan is available to all users without payment or trial expiration
- Storage: 10 GB
- Max File Size: 9 GB
- Monthly Upload Limit: 30 GB
- No Time Limit: FREE plan does not expire
- Upgrade Anytime: You can upgrade to SOLO plan ($9.99/month Early Bird/Beta pricing) at any time
1.2 Trial Periods (If Offered)
4ShootOps may occasionally offer trial periods for SOLO plan features to new users. The duration (e.g., 7 days, 14 days) will be displayed at signup.
- At the end of the trial, you must select and pay for SOLO plan to continue using trial features, or your account will revert to FREE plan
- You may cancel during the trial via your account dashboard. If you provided payment information and the trial auto-converts, see Section 3.2 for refund eligibility within 48 hours
- Trial offers are limited to one per individual or organization unless explicitly authorized
2. Subscription Cancellation
2.1 How to Cancel
- Log into your account
- Navigate to Billing Settings
- Click "Cancel Subscription"
- Confirm cancellation
2.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect
- Service continues until end of current billing period
- No automatic prorated refund for remaining time
- Access retained until cycle ends
- Data available for export for 30 days after
2.3 What Happens When You Cancel
If your storage ≤ 10 GB (FREE plan quota):
- Account automatically converts to FREE plan at end of billing cycle
- All files remain accessible indefinitely
- No data archival or deletion
If your storage > 10 GB (exceeds FREE plan quota):
- Account enters "OVER_LIMIT" state at end of billing cycle
- 30-day grace period begins (uploads blocked, downloads allowed)
- You must: delete files to bring storage under 10 GB, OR upgrade back to SOLO, OR do nothing
- After 30 days: Files moved to cold storage (AWS S3 Glacier Deep Archive)
- Cold storage retention: 150 days
- Day 180: Final warning (30 days before permanent deletion)
- Restore option: Upgrade to SOLO plan ($9.99/month Early Access pricing) triggers automatic restoration (12-48 hours)
- After 210 days total: Permanent deletion (no recovery possible)
3. Refund Policy
3.1 General Rule
Subscription fees already paid are non-refundable. This includes recurring charges for active billing cycles.
3.2 Refund Exceptions
We may provide refunds in these situations:
New Subscription Grace Period
Cancel within 14 days of first payment for full/prorated refund (new subscriptions only, not renewals)
Service Outage
Material outage inconsistent with SLA (notify within 7 days for proportional credit/refund)
Billing Errors
Duplicate charges or system errors resulting in overbilling
Unauthorized Charges
Charges made without authorization (prompt notification and cooperation required)
3.3 Non-Refundable Items
The following are expressly non-refundable:
- • Subscription renewals: Fees from completed billing cycles where full service was provided
- • Storage restoration fees: Restoring files from cold archive is included in SOLO subscription, but the SOLO subscription itself is non-refundable after 14-day window
- • One-time add-ons or professional services: Unless covered by separate written agreement
- • Charges from user error: Selecting the wrong plan, unless goodwill exception granted within 14 days
- • Partial month usage: No refunds for partial month usage after 14-day grace period
Note: 4ShootOps does NOT charge overage fees for storage. Storage limits are enforced by blocking uploads, not by charging additional fees.
4. Refund Request Process
How to Request a Refund

- Include:
- Account email or ID
- Reason for refund request
- Relevant dates and screenshots
- We respond within 14 calendar days
- Approved refunds processed to original payment method
5. Downgrades
5.1 Plan Downgrades
- Take effect at next billing cycle
- No refund for price difference
- May reduce included quotas
- Must reduce usage if exceeding new limits
5.2 Feature Removal
Downgrading may remove access to certain features. Export any affected data before downgrade takes effect.
6. Annual Plans
Annual SOLO Plan ($199/year):
- Cancellation: Same 14-day refund window applies
- After 14 days: No prorated refund for unused months
- Benefit: You receive full year access even if you cancel (service until end of paid year)
- Downgrade: After annual term ends, you can choose not to renew and revert to FREE plan
7. Chargebacks
Important: Contact us before disputing charges
- • Chargebacks without prior contact may suspend your account
- • You remain liable if chargeback reversed
- • Excessive disputes may result in termination
8. Auto-Renewal
- All subscriptions auto-renew by default
- Renewal notices sent 3 days before charge
- Your responsibility to cancel if not continuing
- Update payment method to avoid interruption
9. Credits vs Refunds
In some cases, we offer account credits instead of refunds:
- Credits apply to future invoices
- Non-transferable and expire after 12 months
- Cannot be converted to cash
- Applied automatically to next charges
10. Special Circumstances
10.1 Trial Auto-Conversion
If trial converts automatically and you cancel within 48 hours of first charge, refund may be considered case-by-case.
10.2 Enterprise Agreements
Enterprise customers may have custom refund terms in their written agreement, which supersede this policy.
10.3 Regulatory Rights
Nothing in this policy waives statutory consumer rights where applicable (EU withdrawal rights, Canadian consumer protection, etc.).
